We started off the NCAA season with a solid 3-1 mark, losing a tough one with Penn St. I have a full slate of NCAA and NFL for this weekend. Bookmark my BLOG, and check in regularly for your best source of winning information. We WILL have a winning season, and I look forward to helping us all make money. I predicted 2 outright wins from dogs Northern Illinois and Western Kentucky. From last week:

TOLEDO +23.5 @ Florida: Regular PlayHere we have a Toledo team returning their version of the triplets - QB Owens, RB Fluellen, WR Reedy - and they can put up points. They also return 4 starters on the OL, a key factor in early season games especially. Florida is returning only 3 starters on defense, and have a multitude of issues. They are missing their KR (one of the best in football), their RG is out for 2 games, RT out for the year. Their starting RB will miss the game (replacing the graduated Gillespie), as well as a LB. Thats a lot of missing components and turnover for any team to deal with early in the season.

Last year a MAC team came in - Bowling Green - and gave Florida a game. Toledo is no stranger to competition, having played Ohio St tough, and beating a ranked Cincinnati team last year.

Florida also has a look ahead with Miami Florida, so how focused and prepared will they be for this game?? With the injuries, new faces, and look ahead....combined with a team that can score and has shown competitiveness with good teams, I'll take the 23.5 points. Toledo 6-1 as DD road dogs the past 2 years.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS +3 @ Iowa: Regular PlayTheHuskies crashed the BCS party last year, and look to avenge a tough beat last year to the Hawkeyes. NIU returns triggerman Lynch and a veteran OL (all 5 starters return). They have a new coach and 7 new starters on defense; however, Iowa is installing a new up tempo offense with an inexperienced QB. Soph Ruddick hasn't played a game since high school, is he ready to get this offense rolling in his first game??

Taking the Huskies as a small road dog, depending on the experienced offensive unit to take care of the ball and grind out a close outright win.

PENN ST -8.5 vs Syracuse: TOP PLAYCoach O'Brien and his squad went through a lot last year, coming off of the scandal that rocked not only the football world but the nation. Despite defections and recruiting limitations, his team played hard nosed football, giving a lot of teams all they could handle. Playing through that adversity, through no fault of their own, can bring a heightened sense of unity that can only help a football team.

Syracuse lost both their Head Coach and Off Coordinator, starting QB, 2 WRs, and they also start 3 sophomores on the OL. Penn St has a new QB of their own, but also return 8 starters to the offensive side of the ball. Look for an experienced Penn St offensive unit to grind it out against the Orange, while Syracuse struggles to find their offensive rhythm. Losing both coaches and QB, along with the youthful line will make it difficult to score. Penn St has a talent edge here, which combined with a coaching staff that is more established makes them a very solid play for me.

THIS GAME WILL BE PLAYED AT MET LIFE STADIUM - Neutral Site.

Kentucky vs WESTERN KENTUCKY +4.5: Regular PlayBoth teams feature new head coaches. Kentucky is installing a new, up tempo passing attack for an offense that was woeful last year (116th in scoring, 102 passing LY). It takes time to get a new offense going, one that features timing and rhythm, especially when the squad hash't had previous success moving the ball. They will use a rotation of 2 QBs, and their offensive line lacks experience too. Thats a tall order for a new system.

On the other side, we have a Hilltopper squad returning 14 starters. Say what you want about Petrino, the man can coach. Jr QB Doughty can run the spread effectively, and has a solid RB at his disposal in SR RB Antonio Andrews (nation leading 3161 all purpose yds LY). Last year the Wildcats gave up 31 ppg, which doesn't bode well against an experienced offense with a proven head coach. Taking the points in a game that wouldn't surprise me to see an outright win for Western Kentucky.

THIS GAME WILL BE PLAYED IN NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - Neutral Site

WESTERN KENTUCKY +4.5
